Volleyball Recap: Goddard Takes a Loss

Goddard was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 2-0 to the Eisenhower Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 two weeks ago.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-16.

Micah Gillespie paced Goddard's offense, picking up eight kills. Gillespie got some help from Madelyn Wilson and her 12 assists. Jera Tipping controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Eisenhower can attribute much of their success to Taylor Morgan, who had eight digs and six assists. That's the most assists Morgan has posted since back in September of 2024.

Goddard's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Eisenhower, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Goddard will take on Great Bend at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more sets each game than the last. After both having extra time off, Eisenhower and Andover Central will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
