Edgewood Academy extended the longest winning streak in AISA AA Region 1 this week by beating Fort Dale Academy, 36-35. The win marks 10th in a row for the the Wildcats.

Edgewood Academy and the Eagles played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Edgewood Academy eventually emerging with a 36-35 victory.

Evangel Christian Academy's dynamic duo of David Whitlow and Jay Grice proved tough for East Memorial Christian Academy to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Whitlow threw for 259 yards and Grice had 81 yards receiving. Vadaul Benson helped Evangel Christian Academy's passing attack out by catching seven balls for 77 yards.

Connor Gillespie was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 79 yards on 12 carries as Springwood fell to the Wildcats. Michael Vo also contributed to the rushing game with 43 yards on the ground.

Evangel Christian Academy's Whitlow and Grice have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading AISA AA Region 1 in both passing and receiving yards. Whitlow has thrown for 1235 yards this season, while Grice, a 6-foot-4 receiver, has 19 catches for 447 yards. Gillespie from the Wildcats leads the league in rushing with 765 yards.

Autauga Academy took down Lakeside 73-29 last week, the largest margin of any game.
