Softball Game Preview: Northeast Vernon County Knights vs. Greenfield Wildcats

The Northeast Vernon County Knights will take on the Greenfield Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

As a matter of fact, Northeast Vernon County put up the most runs they have all season on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Golden City with a sharp 16-5 win. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Greenfield can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They skirted past Hume 15-13. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Wildcats' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Northeast Vernon County's win bumped their record up to 2-8. As for Greenfield, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 2-11.
