Baseball Recap: Waterloo West Comes Up Short

If Waterloo West was riding high fresh off their 10-2 takedown of Waterloo East on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wahawks took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Waverly-Shell Rock Go-Hawks on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wahawks of the 7-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Waterloo West's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Waverly-Shell Rock, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Waterloo West wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 13-1 loss against Prairie on the 6th. As for Waverly-Shell Rock, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 7-6 defeat against Mason City on the 6th.
