Softball Recap: Western Brown's Loss Ends 20-Game Winning Streak at Home

Western Brown dropped their record down to 19-3 on Friday, which also ended the team's 20-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They fell just short of the Harrison Wildcats by a score of 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Broncos have suffered since April 1st.

As for Harrison, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since May 3, 2024.

For Harrison's part, Josie Harness spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Harrison got a big performance out of Caiden Baird, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Barrier, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Western Brown will welcome Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
