Basketball Game Preview: Dodge County Indians vs. Thomasville Bulldogs

The Dodge County Indians will be taking part in a tournament against the Thomasville Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Dodge County is headed into the matchup having just suffered their closest defeat since December 14, 2024 on Saturday. They fell just short of East Laurens by a score of 70-67. The loss continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, Thomasville had just enough and edged Brantley County out 50-47 on Friday.

Thomasville found their leader in freshman Harmony Bryant, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and 16 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Bryant has scored at least a third of Thomasville's points. Another player making a difference was Jayla Brooks, who posted 19 points in addition to five boards and five steals.

Thomasville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in ten consecutive games.

Thomasville is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-12 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points over those games. As for Dodge County, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-12.
