Basketball Recap: Central Dauphin East Comes Up Short

Central Dauphin East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Central Dauphin Rams, falling 69-49. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 432nd, while the Rams are ranked seventh).

Central Dauphin's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Wayne Fletcher II, who went 8 of 14 en route to 24 points and seven rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Fletcher II has scored at least a third of Central Dauphin's points. Shakur Starling was another key player, going 5 for 11 on his way to 13 points in addition to six boards and five assists.

Central Dauphin East's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Central Dauphin, they pushed their record up to 12-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Central Dauphin East will welcome Altoona at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Central Dauphin, they will challenge Carlisle at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
