Softball Recap: Liberty County Takes Down Franklin County in a Playoff Battle

Liberty County extended their postseason success on Tuesday against Franklin County. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Seahawks a 9-0 shutout. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 17 games by six runs or more this season.

Cha'Miya Williams made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Williams was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and four RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lauren Davis, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Sadie Bailey was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Liberty County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive matchups.

Liberty County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Franklin County, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-8.

As of now, neither Liberty County nor the Seahawks have any future games scheduled.
