Recap: Wesley Chapel Wildcats vs. Cypress Creek Coyotes
The Wesley Chapel Wildcats waltzed into Thursday's contest with two straight wins but they left with three. They strolled past Cypress Creek with points to spare, taking the game 91-73. Given Wesley Chapel's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while Cypress Creek is ranked 500th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Wesley Chapel's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sian Morris, who scored 16 points along with 8 assists and 7 steals. The game was Morris' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Trey Murray, who scored 23 points along with 5 rebounds.
Cypress Creek's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was River Randall, who scored 16 points along with 8 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Eaton, who scored 8 points along with 9 rebounds.
Wesley Chapel now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Cypress Creek, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wesley Chapel won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Zephyrhills at 7:30 p.m. on December 1st. Cypress Creek will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Sunlake at 7:00 p.m. on December 1st.
