Mt. Vernon is a perfect 10-0 against Vinton-Shellsburg since June of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Mustangs will host the Vikings at 5:00 p.m. Mt. Vernon's pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so Vinton-Shellsburg's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Vinton-Shellsburg's offense. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of West Delaware on Wednesday. The Vikings' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Mt. Vernon's victory bumped their record up to 15-3. As for Vinton-Shellsburg, their loss dropped their record down to 6-15.
