Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Aubree Ahrens and Sam Zurlis Lead Highland to Victory

Highland extended their postseason success on Saturday against Griffith. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Panthers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Trojans have posted since August 23rd.

Leading Highland to victory were Sam Zurlis and Aubree Ahrens. Zurlis had 16 digs and five aces, while Ahrens had nine digs and four aces. Those five aces gave Zurlis a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: Highland was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 21 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

The win made it two in a row for Highland and bumps their season record up to 8-22. As for Griffith, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-13.

Highland has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Hammond Bishop Noll on the 18th. Griffith does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
