Basketball Recap: Aniguiin Takes a Loss

Aniguiin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 91-51 loss at the hands of the Gambell King Polar Bear. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 69-29 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2022.

Leading Gambell to victory were Jarvis Campbell-Soonagrook and Tristan Campbell. Campbell-Soonagrook posted 29 points, while Campbell had 25 points. With that strong performance, Campbell-Soonagrook is now averaging an impressive 17.2 points per game. Damian Campbell-Newhall was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Aniguiin's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Gambell, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-2.

Coming up, Aniguiin will face off against Brevig Mission on Friday. Aniguiin is facing Brevig Mission at the right time seeing as Brevig Mission is stuck on a six-game losing streak. Gambell does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
