Baseball Recap: Springfield Longhorns vs. Holly Wildcats
Springfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They fell victim to a rough 17-5 loss at the hands of the Holly Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Springfield of the 11-7 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.
Springfield saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leyton Jones, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Cody Malone, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and a double.
On Holly's side, Drayden McCray was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing three bases. Jesse Pizarro was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-1.

As for Holly, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Eads at 4:00 p.m. Eads knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy run totals in its past seven games -- so hopefully Holly likes a good challenge.
