Volleyball Recap: Chariho Victorious

Chariho's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Cranston West Falcons 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Chargers have posted since April 15, 2024.

Chariho wouldn't go down easily and took Cranston West into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-17, 21-25, 20-25, 15-13.

Jaxson Vachon was his usual excellent self, getting 16 digs and four aces. Those four aces gave him a new career-high. Ricky Comolli was another key player, getting 36 assists and three aces.

They weren't the only good server: Chariho was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cranston West only served three aces.

The win got Chariho back to even at 2-2. As for Cranston West, they moved to 4-2 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chariho will host Westerly at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Cranston West, they will be playing at home against East Greenwich at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons are facing the Avengers at the right time seeing as the Avengers are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
