Wake Forest proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by three) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Franklinton Red Rams 3-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cougars also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2024.

Wake Forest was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 22-25, 12-25, 25-18, 15-4.

Franklinton lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Adalyn Smith, who had 18 assists and two aces. She has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more assists the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Salene Crisafi, who had 15 assists and five aces.

Wake Forest now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Franklinton, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-3.

Wake Forest has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Heritage on the 16th. As for Franklinton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Vance County on the 16th.
