Football Recap: Clay Comes Up Short

Clay and Hernando squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Clay had to settle for second. They fell 18-6 to the Leopards. The matchup marked the Blue Devils' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Hernando's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carlie Grant, who threw for 143 yards and one TD, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground. What's more, Grant racked up 14 receiving yards, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Kenderlyn Hart was another key pass catcher, picking up 85 receiving yards and one score.

Clay's loss dropped their record down to 14-1. As for Hernando, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season.

As of now, neither Clay nor Hernando have any future games scheduled.
