Massabesic hasn't had much luck against Kennebunk recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Mustangs will head out to challenge the Rams at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Massabesic took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Marshwood, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Mustangs came out on top in a nail-biter against the Hawks on Tuesday, sneaking past 6-5.
Parker Soule-Parent made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out 11 batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Soule-Parent was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Henry Marcotte, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Kennebunk won against Portland on Friday with four runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Rams never let Windham get on the board and left with a 4-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rams.
Like Massabesic, Kennebunk also got a great game from a two-way player: Theo Adams. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. Adams was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2025.
Adams wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Ralls, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. Those two hits gave Ralls a new career-high. Another was Bradley Farrell, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.
Kennebunk's record is now 2-0. As for Massabesic, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
Massabesic couldn't quite get it done against Kennebunk in their previous meeting back in May of 2025 as they fell 12-7. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
