Basketball Recap: St. Johns' Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

St. Johns entered their tilt with Valley on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 67-57 win over the Valley Pirates. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 64-52 win last Monday.

Several Pirates players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Eric Slim, who posted 28 points. Slim's afternoon made it 11 games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Ethan Yazzie, who put up 16 points.

St. Johns now has a winning record of 14-13. As for Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-12.

St. Johns has already played their next contest, a 70-64 victory against Round Valley on the 8th. As for Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 67-62 loss against Northland Prep Academy on the 8th.
