Football Recap: Central Davidson Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against Atkins last Friday, Central Davidson came back down to earth. The Spartans and the Eastern Alamance Eagles were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but the Spartans suffered a 32-31 defeat. The loss put an end to the Spartans' undefeated start to the season.

Eastern Alamance got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Zack Merchel out in front who threw for 322 yards and three touchdowns while completing 76.2% of his passes, and also punched in one rushing score. The Eagles' leading receiver Douglas Kittrells Jr was Merchel's top target yet again, picking up 179 receiving yards and one score.

Having lost for the first time this season, Central Davidson fell to 2-1. As for Eastern Alamance, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central Davidson will head out to take on North Davidson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Eastern Alamance, they will venture away from home to challenge Person at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Eagles' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
