Softball Recap: Grove City Gets the Win

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Grove City and Oil City, and Grove City kept the tradition alive. The Eagles never let the Oilers get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won three games by seven runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Remi Stillwagon, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those RBI were her first of the season. Kalissa Dunkerly was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.

Grove City was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .545. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win got Grove City back to even at 3-3. As for Oil City, their defeat was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7.

Grove City didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 15-1 loss against Sharon on the 11th. Oil City has also already played their next matchup (against Franklin), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
