Football Recap: Columbus Comes Up Short

Columbus came into this matchup off a tough 28-point loss last Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Meridian Wildcats by a score of 21-19 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Falcons have suffered since October 4, 2024.

Columbus' loss was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Meridian, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Columbus will take on Neshoba Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons will be up against the Rockets' rather soft defense (which has allowed 37.25 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
