Recap: Southside Christian Warriors vs. Bethel Christian Academy Trojans
This season hasn't been kind to the Southside Christian Warriors, who are still winless after their eighth match. They took a 33-23 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bethel Christian Academy on Friday. Southside Christian lost against Bethel Christian Academy in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 34-24 score last time.
Despite the loss, Southside Christian had strong showings from Anna Coley, who scored 7 points along with 13 rebounds, and Addison Mizelle, who scored 6 points along with 5 rebounds. Coley scored a full 30.4% of Southside Christian's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Southside Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Bethel Christian Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southside Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Wilson Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. As for Bethel Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Pamlico Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
