Preview: Southwest Onslow Stallions vs. Wallace-Rose Hill Bulldogs
The Southwest Onslow Stallions will head out on the road to square off against the Wallace-Rose Hill Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Southwest Onslow will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.
East Duplin typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Southwest Onslow proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 39-31 win over the Panthers. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Southwest Onslow has scored all season.
Yamorie Hardison continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 15 rebounds. Hardison is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Oriyanna Galloway, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
Meanwhile, Wallace-Rose Hill's four-game losing streak came to an end on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past James Kenan 50-47. Wallace-Rose Hill's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Southwest Onslow pushed their record up to 15-0 with that win, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Wallace-Rose Hill, their win ended a nine-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-10.
Everything came up roses for Southwest Onslow against Wallace-Rose Hill in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 72-23 win. With Southwest Onslow ahead 40-12 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
