Basketball Recap: East Hill Christian Takes a Loss

East Hill Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 60-6 defeat at the hands of the West Florida Baptist Academy Conquerors. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 586th, while the Conquerors are ranked 193rd).

West Florida Baptist Academy found their leader in sophomore Bryse Burkett, who made all 8 shots she took to post 17 points and seven steals. Thanks to that strong game, Burkett now owns an excellent 45.7% shooting accuracy. Olivia Charles also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

East Hill Christian's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for West Florida Baptist Academy, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 20-5.

East Hill Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for West Florida Baptist Academy, they will challenge Gulf Pointe Latin at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Florida Baptist Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.6 points per game this season.
