Indiana high school Top 25 football rankings: Week 1

Brownsburg moves to No. 1 overall after Week 1 victory over Ben Davis.

Heading into Week 2 of the football season, we already have a major upset in Indiana. Avon, which was No. 1 in the MaxPreps Indiana Top 25 preseason rankings, lost to Lawrence North (Indianapolis) 62-34 last week, and is now No. 8 while the Wildcats are No. 7.

Brownsburg moved up two spots to No. 1 overall after knocking off No. 13 Ben Davis (Indianapolis), 38-7. Brownsburg hosts Cincinnati power St. Xavier Friday in one of the top games in the nation.

Another MaxPreps national Game of the Week Friday features No. 2 Center Grove (Greenwood) which hosts No. 9 Warren Central (Indianapolis). These two teams have met 22 times since 2004 with Warren Central winning 14 times, though Center Grove pulled out a 28-14 victory last season.
