Baseball Recap: Riverside Academy Find Success

Riverside Academy proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by 14) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the St. Amant Gators 2-1. While the Rebels didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-20-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Riverside Academy's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brock Bourgeois, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Riverside Academy's victory bumped their record up to 12-4. As for St. Amant, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverside Academy will challenge Morgan City at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Riverside Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Morgan City's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for St. Amant, they will take on Thibodaux at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
