Basketball Recap: Wardlaw Academy Comes Up Short

Wardlaw Academy's game on Tuesday was all tied up 22-22 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of Newberry Academy by a score of 39-36. The game marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Despite the loss, Wardlaw Academy still got an impressive performance from Colt Bailey, who went 6 for 14 en route to 16 points and three steals. The contest was Bailey's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Winn, who posted five points and six rebounds.

Wardlaw Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.3 points per game. As for Newberry Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.
