Softball Recap: Kelliher/Northome Beats Cass Lake-Bena for Their Fourth Straight Win

Kelliher/Northome put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the Cass Lake-Bena Panthers with a sharp 15-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won three matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Bella Elhard was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Elhard is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiya Beuntemeier, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Kelliher/Northome always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Kelliher/Northome's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Cass Lake-Bena, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kelliher/Northome will take on Bagley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cass Lake-Bena, they will challenge Pine River-Backus at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
