Softball Recap: Temple City Rams vs. Northview Vikings
Temple City easily dispatched San Gabriel last Thursday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Temple City Rams fell just short of the Northview Vikings by a score of 7-5 on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-1 last Tuesday.
Zoe Grimaldi made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run and one stolen base. That home run was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Melinda Lansford, who scored a run while going 4-for-4.
Even though they lost, Temple City kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive contests.
Temple City now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Northview, they now have a winning record of 6-5-1.
