Baseball Game Preview: Timpson Bears vs. Woden Eagles

Timpson is 2-8 against Woden since March of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Timpson will welcome Woden at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Timpson 3.4, Woden 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Timpson is headed into the matchup having just suffered their closest defeat since March 12, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Shelbyville by a score of 8-6. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Woden faced off against Chireno on Friday. Woden had just enough and edged out Chireno 9-8.

Landon Nerren and Wade Stanaland made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Nerren tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Stanaland tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Those zero hits allowed gave Nerren a new career-low. At the plate, Nerren scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Stanaland scored three runs and stole a base.

In other batting news, Jakson Ortiz was excellent, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Landon Williams was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Timpson's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Woden, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4.

Timpson was able to grind out a solid win over Woden in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, winning 7-3. Does Timpson have another victory up their sleeve, or will Woden turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
