Softball Game Preview: Northridge Vikings vs. Utica Redskins

The Northridge Vikings will head out to take on the Utica Redskins at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northridge's hitters has struggled lately (they haven't scored a run in four consecutive games), something the team is no doubt ready to change.

Northridge fell victim to Johnstown-Monroe and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 13-0 to the Johnnies.

Meanwhile, Utica fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Lakewood on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lancers by a score of 6-5. The defeat continues a trend for the Redskins in their meetings with the Lancers: they've now lost five in a row.

Emily Meyers was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3. Avery Rine also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.

Northridge's record now sits at 4-6. As for Utica, their record is now 3-5.
