Basketball Recap: Marvin Ridge Takes a Loss

Marvin Ridge was the 71-53 winner over Cuthbertson when they last played one another last Wednesday, but their luck changed this time around. The Marvin Ridge Mavericks fell 67-57 to the Cuthbertson Cavaliers on Tuesday. The Mavericks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Marvin Ridge lost, don't look at Brady Dunn. Despite the final result, he went 6-for-10 from beyond the arc to rack up 27 points. Another player making a difference was Henry Smith, who posted ten points and six rebounds.

Marvin Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Cuthbertson, their victory bumped their record up to 14-9.

Marvin Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cuthbertson, they will square off against Weddington at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Weddington will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Cuthbertson surely won't give up without a fight.
