Volleyball Recap: Nixa Wins High-Profile Matchup Against St. Pius X

Nixa faced St. Pius X in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Eagles walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Lancers. The win was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Gwen Kubik paced Nixa's offense, picking up ten kills. Kubik got some help from Taylor Wood and her 21 assists. Addy Bybee controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Nixa's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for St. Pius X, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-2.

Nixa didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against Marquette on the 13th. As for St. Pius X, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Lee's Summit West on the 13th.
