Baseball Game Preview: Charlotte Latin Hawks vs. Charlotte Country Day School Buccaneers

For the second straight game, Charlotte Latin will face off against Charlotte Country Day School. Charlotte Latin will host Charlotte Country Day School at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Charlotte Latin is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

Charlotte Latin proved they can win big two weeks ago (they won by 11) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over Charlotte Country Day School. The game was the first time the Hawks have beaten the Buccaneers on their field since April 8, 2022.

Graham Blanton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 13 Ks. Those 13 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Charlotte Latin's victory was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jack Bancroft, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games.
