Softball Recap: George County Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

George County entered their tilt with Long Beach on Tuesday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They never let the Bearcats get on the board and left with a 4-0 win. The Rebels have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bearcats, too.

Not much got past Peyton Collins, who gave up just four hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Long Beach off the board. Collins has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Blakey Slay was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in February. Kyleigh Howell also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

George County pushed their record up to 19-1 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Long Beach, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.

George County will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bearcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
