Recap: Dream City Christian National vs. AZ Compass Prep National Dragons

It was a good run, but Dream City Christian National unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 54-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of AZ Compass Prep National. While losing is never fun, Dream City Christian National can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while AZ Compass Prep National is ranked 24th).

Dream City Christian National's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dianalynn Howell, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Howell also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Ariella Goren was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.

Dream City Christian National's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-17. As for AZ Compass Prep National, their victory bumped their record up to 17-2.

Dream City Christian National will be playing in front of their home fans against Bella Vista College Preparatory School at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Dream City Christian National focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Wednesday. As for AZ Compass Prep National, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Eduprize at 5:30 p.m. on February 8th. AZ Compass Prep National's defense has only allowed 28.9 points per game this season, so Eduprize's offense will have their work cut out for them.
