Basketball Game Preview: Normandy Invaders vs. Lakewood Rangers

The Normandy Invaders will venture away from home to face off against the Lakewood Rangers at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.

Normandy is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Bay on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Normandy was outmatched by Bay and fell 64-32. The contest marked the Invaders' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lakewood, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They put the hurt on Westlake with a sharp 66-45 victory on Tuesday. The Rangers pushed the score to 53-30 by the end of the third, a deficit the Demons cut but never quite recovered from.

Lakewood's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points per game. As for Normandy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Normandy came up short against Lakewood when the teams last played back in February, falling 57-47. Can Normandy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
