Softball Recap: Thomas Heyward Academy Takes a Loss

After flying high against Hardeeville on Saturday, Thomas Heyward Academy came back down to earth. The Rebels lost 12-1 to the John Paul II Golden Warrriors on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Warrriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-3 back in March.

Thomas Heyward Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caliegh Sottile, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run.

Thomas Heyward Academy now has a losing record of 1-2. As for John Paul II, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-2.

Looking ahead, Thomas Heyward Academy will welcome Dorchester Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Rebels' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season. As for John Paul II, they are taking a road trip to take on Laurence Manning Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
