Gregory-Portland had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 74-56 win over the Alice Coyotes. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 167th, while the Coyotes are ranked 919th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Gregory-Portland is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 17 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season. As for Alice, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-10.
