Basketball Recap: Oelwein Comes Up Short

Oelwein was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 53-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Waukon Indians. The Huskies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Oelwein's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Waukon, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.

Oelwein will be playing in front of their home fans against Grundy Center at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Grundy Center knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Oelwein likes a good challenge. As for Waukon, they will face off against Crestwood at 8:15 p.m. on January 10th.
