Basketball Recap: Twentynine Palms Takes a Loss

Twentynine Palms's tournament run continued when they took on Citrus Hill on Wednesday. The Wildcats took a blow against the Hawks, falling 80-36. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Leading Citrus Hill to victory were Kannon Steward and Alaric 'AJ' Hayes. Steward dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten assists, while Hayes shot 69% from the field en route to 20 points and five steals. That's the most assists Steward has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jerren White, who put up eight points along with six boards and three steals.

Twentynine Palms' loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Citrus Hill, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Twentynine Palms wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 65-41 win against Grand Terrace on the 21st. As for Citrus Hill, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 65-58 victory against Beaumont on the 21st.
