They fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 57-54. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Stallions have suffered since November 15, 2024.

Despite their loss, Greater Cabarrus S saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Teddy Helton III, who posted 12 points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Arrowood, who earned 11 points.

Meanwhile, Chatham HomeSchool came tearing into Friday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. Given the Thunder's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 258th, while the Runnin' Patriots are ranked 582nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Chatham HomeSchool pushed their record up to 17-10 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.8 points per game. As for Greater Cabarrus S, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-7.

Greater Cabarrus S was able to grind out a solid win over Chatham HomeSchool in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, winning 57-45. Will Greater Cabarrus S repeat their success, or does Chatham HomeSchool have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
