Softball Preview: Northampton Blue Devils vs. Minnechaug Regional Falcons
Northampton is 2-8 against Minnechaug Regional since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Blue Devils will square off against the Falcons at 5:00 p.m. Northampton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.6 runs per game this season.
On Friday, Northampton came up short against Chicopee Comp and fell 11-8.

Emily Kajka put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over six innings while giving up five earned (and six unearned) runs off ten hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Sadie Muszynski was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Avery Hicks was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, while it was Minnechaug Regional who put the first runs on the board on Friday, it was Longmeadow who put up more. The Falcons took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lancers.
Northampton's record is now 11-6. As for Minnechaug Regional, their record now sits at 11-7.
