Basketball Game Preview: Clinton Red Tornadoes vs. Weatherford Eagles

Clinton is 0-10 against Weatherford since January of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 6:30 p.m. Weatherford took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Clinton, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with 33 losses in a row dating back to last season, Clinton turned things around against ASTEC Charter back in December of 2024. They claimed a resounding 60-6 victory over the Comets. The Red Tornadoes' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Weatherford came up short against Del City two weeks ago and fell 54-47. While losing is never fun, Weatherford can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 62nd, while Del City is ranked 17th).

Clinton's win ended a 17-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-7. As for Weatherford, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-3 record this season.

Clinton couldn't quite finish off Weatherford in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 and fell 2-0. Can Clinton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
