Basketball Recap: Andress Takes a Loss

Andress played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 51-17 loss at the hands of the Chapin Huskies. The Eagles have struggled against the Huskies recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Autumn Blackwell was a one-woman wrecking crew for Chapin as she went 7 of 8 on her way to 16 points and eight boards. The dominant performance gave Blackwell a new career-high in points. Jasmine Blake was another key player, putting up ten points and four steals.

Andress' defeat dropped their record down to 10-18. As for Chapin, their victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-13.

Andress will face off against Jefferson at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Andress is facing Jefferson at the right time seeing as Jefferson is stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Chapin, they will venture away from home to square off against Burges at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Burges knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Chapin likes a good challenge.
