Baseball Recap: McQueen Victorious

McQueen won the last time they faced Douglas and things went their way on Monday too. The Lancers came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 10-5. With that victory, the Lancers brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Jaxon McAdara made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. McAdara was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI and one stolen base. McQueen is 3-1-1 when McAdara posts three or more RBI, but 10-13 otherwise.

McAdara wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Owen McNamara, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

The win made it two in a row for McQueen and bumps their season record up to 13-14-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Douglas, they dropped their record down to 10-14 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Coincidentally, McQueen and Douglas will both be playing Reed the next time they take the field. The Tigers will head out to face the Raiders at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Lancers will host them at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
