Football Game Preview: Mars Fightin' Planets vs. Indiana Little Indians

Mars has gone 7-1 against Indiana recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Fightin' Planets will venture away from home to face off against the Little Indians at 7:00 p.m. Mars knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Indiana likes a good challenge.

Mars took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They claimed a resounding 49-10 win over Hampton. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Fightin' Planets' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 41st, while the Talbots are ranked 179th).

Mars' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ayden Yocum, who rushed for 130 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries. Gabe Hein was in the mix as well, providing the Fightin' Planets with two TDs.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Mars was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 208 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 208 rushing yards in five consecutive matchups.

Mars didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Brady Brennan and Hein. Mars got some further help from Liam Corcoran: he made 15 total tackles (4.5 for loss).

Meanwhile, Indiana entered their contest against McKeesport on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Little Indians were outmatched by the Tigers and fell 74-6. The Little Indians were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 62-0.

Mars is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.2 points over those games. As for Indiana, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.

Everything came up roses for Mars against Indiana in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 42-14 win. In that matchup, the Fightin' Planets amassed a halftime lead of 42-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
