Softball Recap: West Lincoln Bears vs. Bogue Chitto Bobcats
After flying high against Franklin County last Monday, West Lincoln came back down to earth. The West Lincoln Bears came up short against the Bogue Chitto Bobcats on Tuesday, falling 13-7. The Bears were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bobcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Caroline Hedgepeth was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Baleigh Griffith and Ryleigh Purdy stepped up to the plate in a big way. Griffith scored two runs while going 1-for-3, while Purdy scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Kylie Jarancik also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
