Recap: Crossland Cavaliers vs. International High School at Largo Sea Turtles

The Crossland Cavaliers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat International High School at Largo 48-9 at home. The win was a breath of fresh air for Crossland as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Crossland's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kendra Gaton led the charge by scoring 22 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Gaton has scored at least a third of Crossland's points. Iyana Ellis-Payne was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.

Crossland's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-13. As for International High School at Largo, their defeat was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-10.

Crossland will face off against College Park Academy at TBD on Thursday. Crossland has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. International High School at Largo's road trip will continue as they head out to face Douglass at 6:00 p.m. on February 8th. Douglass knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully International High School at Largo likes a good challenge.
