Basketball Game Preview: Colman-Egan C-E Hawks vs. Deubrook Dolphins

Colman-Egan hasn't had much luck against Deubrook recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Colman-Egan C-E Hawks will square off against the Deubrook Dolphins at 7:15 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Deubrook will be up against a hot Colman-Egan squad: the team just extended their winning streak to 13. Colman-Egan beat Howard on Tuesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 63-12. Given the C-E Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' South Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 21st, while the Tigers are ranked 107th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Deubrook, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They put the hurt on Castlewood with a sharp 63-43 victory on Thursday.

Colman-Egan's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points over those games. As for Deubrook, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Colman-Egan came up short against Deubrook in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 38-28. Can Colman-Egan avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
